THE FRIDAY NOTE (16TH MAY 2025)

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

Our P4/5 children treated us this morning to a fantastic assembly ahead of Book Week next week! The children sounded amazing and it was great to see so many parents and family members supporting their children. We also have 16 children representing our school at the Apple Blossom Swimming Gala. I will report back the results in next week’s Friday Note.

Have a lovely weekend everyone in that sunshine!

BOOK FAIR

Book lovers, get ready for an adventure! The Book Fair is rolling into Saints and Scholars, bringing a treasure trove of stories waiting to be discovered!

Mark your calendars for our Book Fair from Monday 19th to Wednesday 21st May, 2:00pm-3:30pm. A magical library that's popped up just for us!
View all the available books at https://bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/travelling-books/the-books

We’d encourage everyone to pop in and browse the books in our Book Fair. It’s currently 3 for 2 on all books! School receives money for all purchases so please support our Book Fair!

SACRAMENTS: FIRST HOLY COMMUNION AND CONFIRMATION

Some of our P4 children will be making their First Holy Communion on Saturday 31st May. The mass will be followed by an afternoon tea party at school (from 1-2pm) and we would love to invite all the P4 children who are making their sacrament (and their families) to join us to celebrate.

Some of our P7 children will make their Confirmation on Saturday 7th June in St. Patrick’s Cathedral at 2pm. Our school choir will be singing at both of these services- we would appreciate a full turn out from everyone in the choir in order to truly showcase our school.

CAR PARKING

I’d like to bring a few important reminders to your attention:

  1. Disability Parking: At our school, we have three children who use wheelchairs and who require these spaces to safely get out of their cars and make their way to school each morning and at pick-up time. Additionally, we have parents with disability badges who require the use of these spaces. Please be mindful and respectful of the designated disability parking spaces at all times.
  2. Keep Clear Box: It has been noted that some parents have been parking in the keep clear box in the mornings and at pick-up time. This area, the yellow box outside Miss Macartney’s room, must remain clear at all times.
  3. Turning Circle: The turning circle should be used for drop-off only. Please do not park and exit your cars in this area. If you’d like to walk your child to their classroom in the morning, we kindly ask that you park on the left-hand side of Killuney Park Road as you approach the school- making sure to avoid blocking residents’ driveways.

Thank you for your understanding and support with this.

SPORTS DAY

We plan (weather permitting) to hold our annual Sports Day on Monday 2nd June. Please keep this date free- it would be great to see lots of parents supporting their children at this event.

REMINDER OF END OF TERM ARRANGEMENTS

Please be advised of the end of term arrangements for our children:

CYCLING PROFIENCY

Our P7 children are enjoying their cycling proficiency training. Thank you to Mr Bourne for leading these! Cycling Proficiency will continue next week.

As always, if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with your child’s class teacher or myself via Class Dojo. I am also out at the front of the school each morning and as much as possible each afternoon if you have any issues or concerns. If you have a safeguarding concern, Mrs O’Braonain (our Designated Teacher for Child Protection) can be contacted by email at aobraonain211@c2kni.net.

Have a great weekend,

Mr A Scott-Mulholland (Principal)?
