RSE POLICY

It is a statutory requirement that all schools in Northern Ireland have a RSE Policy. An RSE policy outlines how a school teaches pupils about relationships, personal development, respect for others and understanding emotions. It ensures that learning is age-appropriate, inclusive and supports pupils in developing healthy, respectful relationships.

The draft of our RSE Policy is now available for consultation on the school website. We welcome your feedback and suggestions.

If you would like to share your thoughts, please email them to ascottmulholland193@c2kni.net by Friday 13th June. Thank you!

SACRAMENTS

Some of our P4 pupils will celebrate their First Holy Communion tomorrow (at 12 noon) in St Malachys, followed by a tea party at school from 1-2pm for the children and their families. Our school choir will be singing at the mass- please ensure choir children are in full school uniform (summer dresses with white socks are also fine).

We’d like to wish our P4s, who are celebrating their First Communion, the very best for tomorrow. You’ve prepared so well and we are all so proud of you!

Some of our P7s receive the Sacrament of Confirmation next Saturday (at 2pm in St. Patrick’s Cathedral). The school choir will also be singing at this service. Please ensure full attendance to help us represent the school proudly.

Finally- thank you to Mrs Tohill for all her work with the P4 and P7 children this year. Also to Mrs Harrison and Mrs O’Braonain for their work with our fabulous choir!

UNIFORM SWAP SHOP

This year our Parents’ Council are organising the Uniform Recycle! Our Swap Shop will be open from Monday 2nd June for donations. Last year’s event was a huge success and we’re thrilled to be running it again!

Please drop in any items of uniform (including wellies, coats and PE shoes) to the picnic table at the front of the school from Monday morning.

Any items of lost property which have not been claimed by the end of today, will be donated to the uniform recycle initiative.

MORNING SUPERVISION

A friendly reminder that supervision in the mornings begins on the playground from 8.45am each day. Children arriving before this time must be checked into Breakfast Club (which opens each day at 8.10am). Thanks for your understanding with this!

If you ever have any questions or concerns, you’re always welcome to get in touch with your child’s class teacher or me at any time via Class Dojo. I’m out at the front of the school each morning and, as often as possible, in the afternoons. Alternatively, my door is always open if you need to catch me during the school day. If you have a safeguarding concern, Mrs. O’Braonain, our Designated Teacher for Child Protection, can be contacted directly at aobraonain211@c2kni.net.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

 Mr. A. Scott-Mulholland (Principal)
