THE FRIDAY NOTE (26TH SEPTEMBER 2025)
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
I hope everyone has had a great week! As we head into the final week of September, here are a few important updates and reminders from school.
PARENTS’ COUNCIL NEWSLETTER
The latest Parents’ Council newsletter is now available on our website and has been shared via to the School Story on Dojo. You’ll also find details of this year’s committee and class representatives online. If you’d like to get involved or have suggestions for how we can continue to improve Saints and Scholars, please contact your class rep.
Thank you to everyone who’s contributed to our Halloween Costume Recycle so far—please keep bringing in items. The donation box and clothes rail are located at the front of school.
PARENTPAY – OUTSTANDING BALANCES
As we approach month end, we ask all families to check ParentPay and clear any outstanding balances. If you’re finding it difficult to make a payment, please reach out- we’re happy to work with you to set up a payment plan.
SACRAMENT DATES AND CATHEDRAL VISIT
We’ve now received the dates for this year’s sacraments:
Children in P4 and P7, who are making their sacraments this year, will visit St Patrick’s Cathedral on Thursday 2nd October with Mrs Tohill and Mrs McGeown to meet Fr James. Permission slips will be sent home today.
PARKING AND DROP-OFF ZONE
Thank you to those using our drop-off zone correctly this week- it really helps keep traffic flowing and ensures the school bus can access the school each morning.
Just a reminder:
Thank you for your continued support with this.
CORDELIA’S RECYCLE BIN
Thank you for supporting Cordelia’s recycling initiative. We’ve had a great response so far- please continue sending in tins and plastic bottles.
PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS- OCTOBER ARRANGEMENTS
During the week of Monday 20th to Friday 24th October, school will close early to facilitate Parent Teacher Interviews. Children will be dismissed after lunch at the following times:
We understand this may require families to make alternative arrangements. We will be operating our Waiting Club for children during this week. Children may remain in school until 3pm that week (£2.50 per child) and Sleepy Hollow will also be operating as usual.
GAELIC BLITZ – WELL DONE!
A huge congratulations to the children who represented Saints and Scholars at the Gaelic Blitz in Tullysaran on Monday. You played brilliantly and were a credit to the school.
HEAD LICE REMINDER
Please check your child’s hair regularly for head lice. If found, please treat promptly and let your child’s class teacher know. All information will be kept in the strictest confidence. Working together helps us to minimise disruption for everyone.
REPORTING ABSENCES
Please remember to report all absences on the ‘Book an Absence’ link via our school website. This must be done on the first day of absence and helps us keep accurate attendance records. Thank you!
UNIFORM LABELLING
We have several jumpers/ cardigans in lost property – can we please request you take a minute to label uniform items/ coats so we can easily return them to the children.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, you’re always welcome to get in touch with your child’s class teacher or me at any time via Class Dojo. I’m out at the front of the school each morning and, as often as possible, in the afternoons. Alternatively, my door is always open if you need to catch me during the school day. If you have a safeguarding concern, Mrs. O’Braonain, our Designated Teacher for Child Protection, can be contacted directly at aobraonain211@c2kni.net.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
Mr. A. Scott-Mulholland (Principal)
