THE FRIDAY NOTE (24TH OCTOBER 2025)
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We’ve made it to the end of our first half term and what a brilliant start to the school year it’s been! Thank you for all your support over the past weeks. The children have settled in wonderfully and are thriving in their learning. We hope you found this week’s Parent-Teacher Interviews helpful and affirming. A huge thank you to our incredible staff team- from teachers and learning support assistants to our office, catering, and cleaning staff- for their dedication and care. Saints and Scholars is a special place because of them, and I hope they enjoy a well-earned break too!
I hope you find the following information useful.
HALLOWEEN DISCO
What a night! Thank you to our Parents’ Council and their fantastic team of volunteers for making last night’s Halloween Discos such a success. It’s always a highlight of the school calendar, and it was wonderful to see so many pupils and families enjoying the fun. Special thanks to past pupils Ellen and Lucy Diffin- they were absolute stars! We’re delighted to share that the disco raised over £1000 for our school. Thank you for your generosity and support.
MATHLETICS
Congratulations to Mrs O’Braonain’s P4 class for earning the Mathletics Class of the Month for obtaining the most Mathletics certificates in October! It’s fantastic to see such enthusiasm and progress in numeracy across the school. Keep it up everyone- we’ll see who takes the top spot in November!
ACCELERATED READER SUCCESS
Well done to Bernadette, Gabriella, Tommy and Skye for reading the most words this half term through our Accelerated Reader programme. What an achievement! Keep up the brilliant reading- we’re so proud of you all.

Also, just a reminder about the Poppy Appeal. Poppies and merchandise will be available from Monday 3rd November. Two P7 pupils will visit classes daily for anyone wishing to make a donation.
PARENTPAY
A gentle reminder to please clear any outstanding ParentPay balances and ensure all payments are up to date. Thank you for helping us keep everything running smoothly.
OPEN NIGHT
If you have a child due to start Nursery or P1 in September 2026, or know someone who does, please save the date:
Tuesday 9th December, 6.00-7.30pm with the Principal’s Address at 7pm in the assembly hall. *Please note the change in time.
We’re also excited to share that we’ll be hosting a Stay & Play session for prospective Nursery and P1 pupils on Tuesday 6th January in Leafy Hollow. This will be a wonderful opportunity for children to join their parents for some outdoor learning fun and to experience the magic of our school environment.
Please note:
We look forward to welcoming new families and sharing what makes Saints and Scholars so special.
REPORTING ABSENCES
All absences should be reported via the ‘Book an Absence’ link on our website on the first day of absence. This helps us keep accurate records and ensures compliance with Education Welfare guidance.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, you’re always welcome to get in touch with me or your child’s class teacher via Class Dojo or you can catch me at drop off or collection time. For safeguarding concerns, please contact Mrs O’Braonain directly at aobraonain211@c2kni.net.
Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable half-term break!
