Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope everyone has had a great week! December is always a very busy time of the year and I hope you find this week’s Friday Note useful in keeping you updated on everything going on at Saints and Scholars!
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
OPEN NIGHT
Our Open Night for new Nursery and P1 parents will take place on Tuesday evening, 9th December, from 6.00–7.30pm. The Principal’s Address will be at 7.00pm in the assembly hall. Members of the School Council, choir, and other class representatives will be helping to showcase our school. Permission slips are being sent home today and we ask that these are returned by Monday if your child is able to join us.
We look forward to welcoming prospective families and showing them what makes Saints and Scholars so special- please spread the word to any prospective families you may know!
NURSERY & P1 NATIVITY
The Nursery and P1 Nativity will be performed on Wednesday 17th December at 10.00am. Each pupil will receive two free tickets for family members, which should be brought along on the morning of the performance. Doors to the assembly hall will open at 9.20am and seating will be on a first come, first served basis. Tea and coffee will be provided by our Parents’ Council, and in lieu of ticket sales we will be collecting donations at the door to support our iPad fundraiser. Thank you!
FUNDRAISING FOR IPADS
Our GoFundMe page for a new set of iPads launched last Friday and we are delighted to share that we have already raised £1090. This means we are 14% of the way towards our target of £7,947 for 30 new iPads and protective cases. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far—your support is making a real difference. The link to donate is here: https://gofund.me/b560cac4f.
CAR PARK REMINDER
We would like to remind all parents that the staff car park is for blue badge holders only at drop?off and collection. We know the lack of line markings is frustrating, but please be assured we are working hard to confirm a date for these works with the contractor. If another family member collects or drops off your children, please ensure they are aware of these expectations.
CHRISTMAS FAYRE
Join our Parents’ Council on Thursday 11th December from 6.30–8.30pm for an evening filled with holiday cheer, fun activities, and plenty of opportunities to pick up unique gifts. Entry is £5 per child, while adults are free. Children can enjoy a quick chat and photo with Santa in his grotto, make festive arts and crafts, stock up on reindeer food, or relax in the Christmas movie room. There will also be stalls to browse, along with tea, coffee, and baked treats available for £2 per person.
We are asking for donations of books for our preloved book sale and also for raffle donations, big or small, to help make the evening a success. Please drop any donations into the boxes on the picnic bench outside school by Monday 8th December at 9am.
CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY
Thursday 11th December will be our Christmas Jumper Day. Children are invited to wear their festive jumpers to school and enjoy the celebrations. We are asking for a £1 donation per pupil for Save the Children. This is also the date of our school Christmas Dinner, always one of the highlights of the year.
REPORTING ABSENCES
All absences should be reported via the ‘Book an Absence’ link on our website on the first day of absence. This helps us keep accurate records and ensures compliance with Education Welfare guidance.
DECK THE PAWS!
The Nit & Natter Community invites you and your furry friends to a festive Christmas celebration at Armagh Cricket Club on Saturday 13th December (12–5pm).
For just £15 per dog, your pooch will enjoy a “pawtrait” with Santa Paws, a puppuccino, a personalised gift, and a festive goodie bag.
Dogs and humans alike are encouraged to dress to impress- think jumpers, tinsel, hats, or festive collars! All proceeds support Pretty ‘n’ Pink. Hamish, of course, will be there with bells on! We hope to see lots of you there too!
If you ever have any questions or concerns, you’re always welcome to get in touch with me or your child’s class teacher via Class Dojo or you can catch me at drop off or collection time. For safeguarding concerns, please contact Mrs O’Braonain directly at aobraonain211@c2kni.net.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
