The Friday Note (20.02.26)

THE FRIDAY NOTE (20TH FEBRUARY 2026)

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

This has been an incredibly difficult week for the Saints and Scholars community. The news of Roberta’s passing has been heartbreaking for us all. Roberta was a fantastic member of the Saints and Scholars family and she will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

It has been very moving to read the many kind and thoughtful messages shared online about Roberta. It is clear that she had a profoundly positive impact on so many people, and that her warmth, kindness, and dedication touched the lives of pupils, parents, and staff alike.

I would like to formally thank the Education Authority’s Critical Incident Response Team, who were in school on Monday and Tuesday to support both staff and pupils. Their presence and guidance were greatly appreciated in the wake of such sad news.

We plan to honour Roberta’s memory, in consultation with her family, and we will share further details when appropriate. In the meantime, we will be opening a ‘Celebration of Life’ book for Roberta on Monday 23rd February. This will be placed in the school office. Parents, friends, and members of our wider community are warmly invited to write messages, memories, or reflections. The book will be available from 9am-3pm each day until Friday 27th February, after which it will be passed on to Roberta’s family.

Finally, I’d like to thank everyone who has reached out with messages of support this week- it has meant a great deal to us. I’d now like to share some of the updates and celebrations from across the school.

Scientific Sue will be visiting school on Tuesday 24th February to deliver her Science Show to all pupils from P1–P7.
