THE FRIDAY NOTE (6TH MARCH 2026)
Dear Parents/Guardians,
It has been another busy and enjoyable week in school, with World Book Day bringing lots of excitement to the classrooms. We had some fantastic costumes on display and the book character potatoes were incredibly creative - the effort that went into them was brilliant to see! Thank you to all the parents who supported the children in getting involved. It was lovely to see such enthusiasm for books and reading across the school!
I hope you find the following information useful.
CHOIR PERFORMANCE
I just wanted to say a huge well done to the children in P5-P7 who performed at the Armagh City Hotel at ABC Council’s Peace in Practice on Tuesday of this week. The children sang fantastically!
THANK YOU
On behalf of the entire staff team, I’d like to thank the Parents’ Council for organising a lovely extended break for our staff today. This was to thank them for the support for our pupils following the news about Roberta’s passing. It was very thoughtful and greatly appreciated by the whole team- thank you!
BINGO
The pupils of the School Council have organised a fun Bingo Evening for Friday 13 March at 6pm in the School Hall for parents and children. This is to raise money for new sensory tools and toys for our Den as identified by the children themselves. The entry is £5 per person and we will hold a raffle during the evening too. If anyone has any donations for the raffle and prizes for the night, we would welcome any contributions. We will serve tea and coffee during the evening too. Please come along and support our school council who have been working really hard on planning a fun night for our school community.
SCHOOL HOLIDAY LIST 2026/27
Our school holiday calendar has been approved by the Board of Governors for 2026-27. This is now available on the school website. Please note that all dates are subject to change, as always, and if changes are made we will ensure we give you lots of notice ahead of time.
PARENT-TEACHER INTERVIEWS
Parent Teacher Interviews are taking place next week. All parents who requested a meeting have been contacted by their class teacher. To facilitate the meetings, we will stagger our dismissal times as follows:
1.00pm: Nursery and P1 pupils (and older siblings). The school bus will leave at 1pm.
1.10pm: P2 and P3 pupils (and older siblings)
1.20pm: P4 and P5 pupils (and older siblings)
1.30pm: All remaining P6 and P7 pupils.
FIRST CONFESSION
First Confession for some of our P4 children will be taking place in St Malachy’s Chapel on Monday 9th March 2026 at 6pm. Children who are be reading should arrive by 5.30pm for a quick practice beforehand.
SCHOOL TRIPS: PAYMENT AND CONSENT
As you know, our school is a busy and vibrant place and pupils have enjoyed a number of trips in recent weeks. To help ensure these run smoothly, we kindly ask that parental consent and payment are completed on ParentPay in advance of any trip. Unfortunately, if consent and payment have not been received beforehand, children will not be able to attend the trip.
We would also ask parents to check any outstanding balances on ParentPay and arrange payment as soon as possible. If you are experiencing any financial difficulties, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the school in confidence and we will do our best to support you.
