The Friday Note (07.02.25)

THE FRIDAY NOTE (7TH FEBRUARY 2025)

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

We’ve made it to the end of our first half term of 2025- it has been a very busy one with lots going on in Saints and Scholars. It was great to see everyone pulling out all the stops for our Pyjama Day today- thank you to the Parents’ Council for the fantastic idea! I hope that everyone spends some quality time together as a family next week over the break and we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday 17th February.

Have a lovely half term break everyone. I hope you find the following information useful!

CAR PARKING

I’d like to bring a few important reminders to your attention:

  1. Disability Parking: At our school, we have three children who use wheelchairs and who require these spaces to safely get out of their cars and make their way to school each morning and at pick-up time. Additionally, we have parents with disability badges who require the use of these spaces. Please be mindful and respectful of the designated disability parking spaces at all times.
  2. Keep Clear Box: It has been noted that some parents have been parking in the keep clear box in the mornings and at pick-up time. This area, the yellow box outside Miss Macartney’s room, must remain clear at all times.
  3. Turning Circle: The turning circle should be used for drop-off only. Please do not park and exit your cars in this area. If you’d like to walk your child to their classroom in the morning, we kindly ask that you park on the left-hand side of Killuney Park Road as you approach the school- making sure to avoid blocking residents’ driveways.

Thank you for your understanding and support with this.

CASH 4 CLOBBER

The date for our Cash 4 Clobber collection has been extended until 19th February. This means there is still time to clear out your cupboards and support the Eco-Council. Thank you to those of you who have already donated!

TRANSLATED FRIDAY NOTES!

You can now read the content of our Friday Notes in any language. On our school website, click ‘Parents’ and then select ‘Newsletters and Notes’. You will see a ‘Translate’ option beside the most recent edition of the Friday Note- simply click this link and select your language from the menu at the top of the page. We hope that our entire school community finds this useful in keeping up to date with everyone going on in school.

For our Primary 7 pupils who are making their Confirmation this year, the Ceremony of Light mass will be taking place on 18th February at 7pm in St. Patrick’s Cathedral. All other sacrament dates for this year can be found on the Armagh Parish website.

CHILDREN’S MENTAL HEALTH WEEK

We will be marking Children’s Mental Health Week during the week after the half-term break. The children will be engaging in lots of fun activities to raise mental health awareness. On Thursday 20th February we will be having a ‘Wellbeing Day’ It will be a busy day with all classes doing some wellness sessions with Mrs Harrison, running their Daily Mile and popping down to Leafy Hollow to toast marshmallows on the firepit! Keep an eye on our social media platforms for some photos from the day!

P7 FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

Our P7 boys travelled to Football Warehouse in Portadown this morning to play in an indoor football tournament organised by Mid Ulster School’s Football Association. The boys played really well and did our school proud!
