Today the children had lots of fun making hedgehogs at the dough table. They added googly eyes and matchsticks, using real images of hedgehogs as inspiration as part of our autumn theme. Playing with dough supports young children’s fine motor skills, hand–eye coordination, and creativity. It also helps them to concentrate, use their imagination, and work together while chatting and sharing ideas.
Some of the children also enjoyed dressing up, which gave them a chance to pretend, explore different roles, and have fun with their friends. It’s a lovely way for them to use their imagination, build confidence, and develop their social and communication skills through play.
