Autumn in P1/2
This week, the children have been learning about Autumn. We talked about how the days are getting shorter and the nights longer, and how the leaves are changing colour—turning red, orange, and yellow—before falling from the trees. The children enjoyed collecting leaves and using them in a range of creative activities.
As a class, we worked together to create an Autumn scene. Some children glued leaves onto paper plates to make the leafy part of the tree, while others painted kitchen roll tubes to form the trunks. We then joined them together to make our very own Autumn trees.
The children created beautiful leaf rubbings, working carefully and creatively to reveal the patterns and textures of the leaves.
Finally, we incorporated the leaves into our Numeracy work, using them to create repeating patterns.
