Today, as part of our Pets and Animals topic, the children explored animal footprints. We dipped small toy animals into paint and made tracks across the page, discovering the different shapes and patterns their paws make. This activity supported the children’s early mark-making skills, encouraged curiosity about animals, and helped them notice similarities and differences between footprints.
We also had great fun at the water tray with little ducks! The children enjoyed singing “5 Little Ducks” while they scooped, poured and filled containers, and used nets to catch the ducks – a lovely way to build fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
