Lunchtime, Learning and a Little Bit of Meg and Mog Magic! (Nursery)

15th Oct 2025
Lunchtime in nursery is more than just eating — it’s an important part of our learning. Whether having a hot meal or a lunchbox, the children sit together, chat with their friends and practise listening and talking skills. They are also learning to stay at the table to eat, developing independence by using cutlery, pouring their own drinks, opening packets and containers, scraping plates and tidying away. These everyday routines build confidence, self-help and social skills, showing that lunchtime is a valuable learning time in nursery.
Recently, we have also been enjoying the Meg and Mog stories, which the children love. Sharing books together helps to build early literacy skills, spark imagination and encourage a love of stories.
