Tataki-zomé (P1MT)
26th May 2025
The children in P1MT had a wonderful morning in the warm May sunshine exploring the art of Tataki-zomé. Tataki-zomé is an ancient Japanese technique where plants are pounded to create patterns on fabric or paper. This simple process uses natural pigments from flowers and leaves, transferring them to fabric by hammering or pounding. The technique requires minimal materials and produces beautiful, unique designs. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience, finding it both calming and therapeutic.
