Safeguarding
At Saints and Scholars Integrated Primary and Nursery School, safeguarding is central to our ethos and daily practice. We are committed to protecting the welfare of all pupils, staff, parents, and visitors, ensuring our school remains a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
Our safeguarding approach is rooted in our core values:
We strive to create a school that is happy, respectful, and loving- where children show kindness, build friendships, and demonstrate that they care. These values guide not only our relationships but also our safeguarding culture, helping every child feel seen, heard, and protected.
Mrs O'Braonain is the Designated Teacher for Child Protection. She leads on all safeguarding matters, coordinates support for pupils at risk, and ensures staff are trained and confident in recognising and responding to concerns. Mrs McGeown and Mrs Kennedy are our Deputy Designated Teachers. They support the Designated Teacher in managing referrals, maintaining safeguarding records, and liaising with external agencies when necessary. Mr Scott-Mulholland is also a member of the Safeguarding Team, as the principal of our school. Ms Eileen Rowntree is our Designated Governor for Child Protection. Together, our safeguarding team ensures that child protection procedures are followed rigorously and compassionately, in line with statutory guidance and best practice.
If you have any concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a pupil, please contact Mrs O'Braonain directly via email at aobraonain211@c2kni.net. This email is monitored during school hours and, in exceptional circumstances such as school closures or critical incidents, may also be used to raise urgent safeguarding concerns.
